i don't KNOW why!!
like, ok you've never met her but you'd get it if you did, my friend kisara that i told you about, she once fished up a fish bigger than she is from the ocean
and here's me, THINKING i'm being really nice, telling her how cool and buff she is, and then everyone starts laying into me about being insensitive.
i don't even have to be hitting on girls for them to hate me. and rinwell is just... impossible. if i'm breathing she is criticizing me.
and other people just completely ignore me, usually because i'm standing next to alphen, which
i don't even know what to say about that

That's strange to hear all things considered. About Alphen, that is. He|
I can't fight this one for you, but... If I see anything like that happening here? I'm not going to let it slide. Even if you do something out of line things like that can be resolved by simply talking it out rather than yelling and expecting the person in question to magically figure out what they did or didn't do wrong. Especially when these people are meant to be your friends and comrades above all else.

I saw a few squabbles on our way to Cyslodia even but I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as what I'm hearing here.

well i mean we bicker all the time, but we're really close too
all of us, or at least i think we are... i hope we are?
it's not like anyone is really MEAN most of the time. we've got each other's backs
i just always kinda seem like i'm saying the wrong thing or getting treated like a little kid... but the truth is i don't really know how to talk to people that well anyway so i just figured i gotta be doing something wrong

kind of a loaded question in dohalim's case and he probably wouldn't say it
or if he did he'd turn it into a poem or something dumb like that which is an automatic "there he goes again"
alphen though, i dunno. probably just "thank you"? somehow he never manages to make an embarrassment out of himself even if he barely knows any more about girls than i do.

You're well within your rights to tell me to keep my nose out of it, but I do wanna figure out why all of that is happening. You shouldn't have to shoulder something like that for no given reason, especially coming from your friends of all people.

You'd be surprised how effective stories are. Lead someone in with a good hook, and they'll be dying to know more.

It'd be a good conversation piece, I think. And if they've also been there, then... well, uh. That's something you'd have to talk to each other about, right? Compare your experiences. Ask 'em questions bout it and themselves. I've started to figure out that our world and Lenegis are leagues different from the ones other people come from and it's fascinating. A little scary, but I'd want to hear as much as I could about all of it.
