[ Law is dozing when they bring it in. not quite asleep, but drifting sleepily in and out, barely cognizant of anything going on in the room. he's been here a few days by now, long enough that he's out of the danger zone. lived through the first 24, 48 hours, so he should be good to go, right? yeah, except that means he's stuck with the sucky and unfortunate task of recovering, and it's pretty much hell. luckily he's on basically a constant regimen of whatever that nasty, disgusting potion is they keep giving him, but... yeah. bad. he doesn't really come around when they open up his package and set it out for him, but funnily enough its the BIG CUP that does it. the nose knows, maybe? his chin lifts and he zeroes right in on the thing, brow furrowing as he takes in all the gifts. ]

What...?

[ A package came by courier for you, one of the Salamanders explains, and gestures to everything on the table as if he hadn't noticed. A get-well gift, perhaps?

that's... kind of alarming, there aren't many people who know what happened, are there? and they wouldn't really send him gifts when they could just—oh. oh, wait... yeah, the cup noodles are a dead giveaway. after making a pathetic reach for the letter, the nice Salamander hands it over to him and then leaves him to read it in peace, which fortunately even in his addled state he's able to do just fine. this... doesn't read like someone who knows he's injured, it just reads like... a thoughtful gift (to Tikal, where he isn't... oh, man). that's touching enough as it is, but it's the very bottom of the letter that makes his breath catch in his chest. birthday. birthday?!?! oh, no.

Law picks up his medallion from around his neck without consideration for what half-out-of-it shit he sounds like; this is important. ]

Gladio... Gladio, did I miss your birthday...?
